About me

Hi there, my name is Thomas Schumacher and I am here to support you as Interim Manager.

As a drummer with drive and passion I am used to perform songs from start to finish and keep the band on track. Same counts for my job as interim manager. I am an empathic leader with hands-on mentality and ability to handle setbacks to manage projects successfully.

As Innovation manager I am familiar with classic and agile project management methods. In order to make innovation happen I use a set of various innovation methods like Design Thinking, Lead Innovation, Lean Innovation and Agile Development. With me you get an enthusiastic Innovation Enabler, ready to empower employees to unlock their innovation potential. In order to set up structured Process Managamenet I use frameworks lile CMMI-Dev and ITIL. Process optimization by using Lean management methods and process models like stage-gate are part of my „DNA.“ Given my project experience in Digital Transformation and as certified Change Manager I am an expert in integrating employees into change processes and execute successful transformations.

Next to my international business experience I hold a degree in business administration and as social care worker for adults in difficult life situations. This unusual combination is very useful to me in my daily work whether as change manager, innovation manager or process Manager.

A good drummer needs more than just drive and passion. The drummer should be able play various variations of his music. This counts in particular for me as Interim Manager with drummer background. Therefore I offer four categories of services: Innovation Planning, Innovation Operations, Digital Process Management and Change Management.

Next to strategic planning my main focus is on execution and implementation – Doing is key!

Rock´n´Roll is about getting things moving – whether in a band or company. Someone has to kick off and leads projects till a successful implementation. Again my example of a drummer. As part of a band the drummer kicks off and finishes a song, defines beat and tempo. He keeps the band going and on track. The drummer is visible but leads from the back. A drummer also knows: without inspirations, experiments, setbacks and rehearsals there will be no success.

The same goes for me, your drummer-Interim Manager-hybrid.

In order to develop innovation and make change happen I set up cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams. Together we create visionary objectives, out-of-the box strategies and deliver feasible solutions without loosing track on your big picture. With me you get someone who enables employees to thinks in end-to-end processes and unlocks their innovation potential. To leverage synergies I improve cross-functional communication and cooperation by using state-of-the-art collaboration tools and agile methods.

As a strategic and empathic leader I put people first, processes next,than ideas. Within my previous job as a Social Care Worker I coached adults to be able keep focus in challenging circumstances and difficult situations. These key learnings combinded with my expertise in Innovation, Process & Change Management will make me a valuable asset for your organisation.
